Responding to Bullying
Welcome to our Responding to Bullying short course series, which continues to reflect the key themes contained in ‘Respect for All, The National Approach to Anti-Bullying for Scotland’s Children and Young People’, as well as spotlighting guidance from multiple other agencies.
All courses in this series have been designed for all adults who work with or care for children and young people or anyone who would like to find out more about how to effectively respond to bullying.
Responding to Bullying will look in detail at the knowledge and range of practical skills required to respond effectively to bullying. The learning series will also introduce you to respectme’s RESPECT model for responding to bullying, designed to help you identify and remember the key elements that make up a high quality, effective response to bullying.
By completing all courses in this series, you will be able to:
- Describe a Children’s Rights based approach to supporting children affected by bullying
- Identify unhelpful personal attitudes and responses to bullying
- Develop your understanding and ability to use approaches that support wellbeing when children are affected by bullying
- Recognise solution focused responses to bullying
- Understand the important role of policy and procedures when responding to bullying
