NEW: Change Maker Series

 

Are you a passionate Change Maker who wants to be a game-changer with and for children and young people? 

Our ‘Change Maker Series’ is the new arm of respectme’s Anti-Bullying Learning Academy. Across a trio of live, national conversation webinars and in collaboration with a specially curated panel of expert speakers, panellists and youth champions, the ‘Change Maker Series’ will spotlight protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 and non-protected ones.

Aimed at potential change makers, those in leadership, influence and equalities roles, including parental engagement leads, the digital series will explore the connection between prejudice and bullying, recognising and responding to bullying and the vital role of diversity and inclusion as a key prevention strategy.

Attend to gain insights from key speakers; receive practical advice, up to date guidance, research plus a digital resource pack; and have your questions on the topical issues answered by expert panellists in respectme’s interactive Q&A.

 Change Maker Series aims:

  • Ensure adults are supported to understand the vital connection between effective inclusion and diversity work and the prevention of discrimination and bullying, to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of all children and young people.
  • Encourage adults to recognise, prevent and respond to stereotyping, negative attitudes to difference, discrimination and bullying in their settings.
  • Actively promote embedding change in existing practices avoiding tokenistic approaches and ensuring the rights and health and wellbeing of children and young people are protected.
  • Encourage self-reflection and a solution focus.

  • Webinar 1: Body Image, Appearance and Bullying – Wednesday 1 Feb 2023, 4-6pm 
  • Webinar 2: Are You Change Ready? – Wednesday 29 March 2023, 4-6pm
  • Webinar 3: Disability and Bullying – Wednesday 24 May 2023, 4-6pm
